Integration 2024 — Cuivre River

Three-day alternative healing retreat at Cuivre River State Park, MO. Veterans and first responders explored modalities including plant medicine, sweat lodges led by Lakota facilitators, yoga, sound healing, and cold immersion — addressing mind, body, and spirit.

Kerrville Flood Response

When historic flooding struck Central Texas on July 4, GSF and VFW mobilized within 72 hours, coordinating across VFW posts to deliver 100+ tons of food, water, clothing, bedding, and search-and-rescue essentials from Kerrville to Hunt, Comfort to San Saba, and Marble Falls to San Angelo.

War Cry for Change — D.C. Summit

Two-day Veteran Harm Reduction Summit in Washington, D.C., in partnership with VFW and DAV. Featured a congressional roundtable with Rep. Jack Bergman, an official press conference at the House Triangle, and an IW-led “Hike to Heal” from VFW HQ to the National Mall with a public art installation protesting overprescription.

Operation Purify — Amazon Healing Journey

A 15-day healing journey in the Amazon jungle of Colombia. Veterans participated in ancestral plant medicine ceremonies, nature cleansing, spiritual weaving workshops, daily plant steams, and private healing sessions — with 30 days of pre-retreat preparation and post-retreat integration workshops.

Art of War, Heart of Healing Exhibit

Grunt Style transformed its San Antonio headquarters into a living gallery, partnering with Warriors Heart to showcase 40 original works created by veterans and first responders during therapeutic recovery. The exhibit included audio recordings of recovery stories, a healing mural, and a fundraising auction benefiting Warriors Heart and Irreverent Warriors.

Bourbon, Whiskey & War Stories

Community event blending bourbon and whiskey tastings from local and national distilleries, hand-rolled cigars, and live music by Operation Song. Features a fireside chat with Tim Jensen, Bob Pennington, and Mark Nutsch (Horse Soldier Bourbon), broadcast nationwide through Grunt Style and American Grit.
