Event Description:
Join us for a landmark event at the U.S. Capitol as we unite our voices to end the crisis of veteran overprescription. Hosted by Senator Jerry Moran, this powerful day of advocacy and awareness brings together veterans, families, lawmakers, and healthcare experts to demand meaningful change in veteran mental health care.

10:30 AM - Hike to Heal Led by Irreverent Warriors (Silkies Encouraged) Join our warrior community as we march from Capitol Hill to the National Mall for the unveiling of “The Skull of Sacrifice” , a monumental art piece constructed from prescription bottles contributed by veterans, serving as a stark visual reminder of overprescription toll on our warrior community
12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Capitol Hill Roundtable expert-led discussion on veteran mental health reform and alternative treatment options. *Closed session for special attendees.

The Grunt Style Foundation is proud to host the “Veterans
Harm Reduction Summit: Exploring the Relationship
Between Medication & Veteran Suicide.” This event is proudly
hosted in partnership with the Michigan Veterans Affairs
Agency, The Michigan Commander’s Group and The American
Legion Department of Michigan at the VFW National Home in
Eaton Rapids, Michigan. This one-day event is the first of it’s
kind in the nation to address the role of medication
overprescribing in the veteran suicide epidemic. We will be
joined by veterans and family members with lived experiences,
subject matter experts and veteran advocates to discuss the
challenges facing the veteran and mental health community,
and solutions moving forward, with the goal of reducing harm
and saving lives.
